Unbroken is a 2014 biographical movie based on the life of Louis “Louie” Zamperini (role played by Jack O’Connell), directed by Angelina Jolie. The movie released worldwide on November 17, 2014, and did a business of around $161 million. Movie has got a mixed reviews from the critics with a 7.2 rating by IMDB.
The movie starts showing Louis “Louie” Zamperini (Jack O’Connell) flying as bombardier when suddenly it gets struck with bomb, causing the plane damaged heavily.
Somehow the pilot manages to get the plane at a stop. Now, the movie flashes back in the childhood of Louis, where he is a young boy living in California. His brother one day sees him doing some mischiefs and running very fast on chance of getting caught. Brother at the moment decides to teach him to be a runner.
He with his hard work manages to get a nickname of ‘The Torrance Tornado’ and even qualifies for the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, Germany. Louis along with a crew are sent search and rescue mission, which goes horribly wrong after their plane ends crashing in ocean. They spend around 45 days there until the Japanese soldiers capture them and they become ‘prisoners of war’. When the World War 2 ends, Louie and other prisoners are set to free to go to their nation. The whole story explains the struggle of Louise and his team throughout the war.
